UNDERSTANDING AND NEGOTIATING WAGES
These workshops are designed to educate women and girls about the difference in wages for professionals and have girls recognize the opportunities in both male and female dominated professions.
WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROJECT
This project involves working with the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program to plan and implement workshops on developing workplace violence prevention policies for community businesses.
MIDWAY COLLEGE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Partnering with Midway College and their Student Government Association, this project provides seminars focusing on self-development, community service, strategic leadership and women’s history.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT WORKSHOPS
Several partnering organizations are brought together to create and host financial management, budgeting and investment workshops throughout the region.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
Specific audiences, including students from elementary through college, women in transition and women who are seeking a career change, are offered appropriate workshops based on their need.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKSHOPS
This project includes a series of workshops for women encouraging entrepreneurship and plans to conduct a market survey analysis, learn more about virtual assistance and identify resources.
GIRLS IN SCIENCE AND MATH
A web-based listing of female mentors from various career fields including medicine, pharmacy, etc., as well as non-traditional science fields such as engineering, is being created for teachers, principals, PTO’s and/or agencies looking for female role models.
RECOGNITION EVENT IN CELEBRATION OF WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
This event will celebrate Women’s History month while recognizing and honoring women in the Bluegrass Area Development District who have shown a strong commitment to improving the economic status of women and girls in their counties.
